I was so thrilled to be invited as press to The Toast, a curated wedding showcase in Portland’s trendy Pearl District a few weeks ago. It was a gorgeously curated event, unlike any I’ve seen. Upon arrival guests were warmly greeted with drink tickets and a tote bag for collecting clever business cards and vendor information.
Check out these invite samples by Elli. Beautiful design, quality card stock, and double sided print. In love.
Vendors worked as teams to create top to bottom reception mock-ups complete with food, drinks, and cake! They looked so good I nearly grabbed something right off the display. Luckily there were waiters passing trays of delicious appetizers and desserts.
There were three themes I took away from the event.
1. Eucalyptus is HUGE! I started noticing it in home decor recently and it was a major influence at the show. I love the statement wall Jenni from A Well Crafted Party created.
2. Aged wood, use it every chance you get! Crates, furniture, signs, custom bars and tables…
3. Vintage. Vintage. Everything vintage. Vintage is classic and timeless. Vintage plates, glasses, linens, furniture, bed springs, dresses. Most of which you can rent! Something Borrowed is rental business in the Portland area where you can find vintage furniture, props, and decor for a very reasonable price.
I was thrilled to have Sarah, the bride we’re helping, and her lovely family attend the event. We got so many ideas for her big day. Here they are in the Happymatic photo booth.
So. Much. Fun. I hope we get to go again next year!
