Done, son! The Calling It Home one room challenge has come to an end. Six weeks of hard work by a lot of very talented people. Go check out all of the transformations when you have a chance.
I’m THRILLLLLLED with how our rustic bathroom turned out! So prepare yourself for photo overload.
This room has no natural light and is very narrow. Two strikes against capturing lovely photos. Oh..and my photography skills need work. So please disregard the shadows and know that it looks even better in real life.
I shopped my house and garage for almost all of the decor in this room. I did buy new towels from Walmart (surprisingly awesome ones, in fact) and a gorgeous linen shower curtain from Restoration Hardware.
The mirror Jarrod and his mom, Deanna, built out of old ammo boxes is by far my favorite thing in the whole room.
I ordered this cool metal tiered stand from Decor Steals over a year ago. I think it’s been in every room in my house. The cream canisters are from Pottery Barn about ten years ago. The “Gentlemen” sign is from a collection of vintage signs that Jenny & I sell. The towels and sponge are from Walmart. The stamped spoon is from our buddy, Dottie, at Gathered Over Time and reads “grow, damn it”. It’s in a faux fern from Home Goods (I get a kick out of irony).
My son, Brodie, found that little dear skull on the farm, the old frame is a Goodwill find, and the rusty basket (which I sprayed with lacquer for safety) is vintage but I don’t know what it was originally used for.
I love these crusty old hooks I found at The Reardan Plowboy, a really cool & eclectic store near Spokane, Washington. I just need something awesome to hang above them. I have a feeling I’ll find it at the Farm Chicks show next month.
I found this old leather belt in the garage. I don’t even know what it was from but it sure looks cute wrapped around the shower curtain.
We love this simple and classic faucet from Build.com. Single handle faucets are the way to go in my book. The customer service at Build.com is amazing, by the way.
The industrial outdoor light fixture from Lamps Plus fits in perfectly and the addition of the shower can light really brightens the whole room. I’m in love with this gorgeous modern farmhouse sink from Ferguson (thanks, James). And the faux wood ceramic tiles from Home Depot are really stunning.
My husband says he’s “done with projects” for a while 🙂 Boo…
We’re so pleased with the outcome. It’s rough around the edges and masculine yet timeless.
